I-35 Dubb

Feds now say that the reason for the I 35W bridge collapse was caused by Gusset plates. The GP's were the wrong size and caused the bridge to fall. Now 40 years later we paid the price, the bridge fell and 13 people were killed. Aswell as the GPs there was alot of Corrosion and rust on the GPs. The extreme heat and shifting piers did not contribute to the bridges collapse. In 3 weeks investigators will announce their findings to the national transportation safty board. If the GPs were 1.5 inches instead of 1 inch they wouldof been able to withstand everything that was going on at the time and would still be standing today.
